Fur Warriors was founded by Ashley, an avid animal lover whose journey into rescue began after a heartbreaking personal experience. After adopting a dog from an unethical rescue, Ashley quickly discovered the dog was critically ill. Within the first 48 hours of adoption, she was faced with over $10,000 in emergency veterinary bills. The only options presented were to pay for life saving treatment … or euthanize the dog. Euthanasia was never an option.

When the rescue refused to take responsibility or stand behind the animal they had placed, Ashley was left to navigate the crisis alone. That traumatic experience became the catalyst for change. Determined that no adopter or animal should ever face that situation again, Ashley founded Fur Warriors. 

This rescue was built on the principles of ethical rescue, medical transparency, & ongoing support for adopters. Fur Warriors exists to be a voice for the voiceless, & to advocate for the animals who need help the most.

Fur Warriors is a no kill, foster based rescue that is an end-of-the-line critical care organization, committed to saving animals with no other options. We specialize in urgent medical & complex cases, working hand in hand with emergency clinics, animal welfare agencies, & shelters across Ontario.

Over the years, Fur Warriors has become known for stepping in where options run out. From severe neglect & abuse cases, to animals requiring extensive veterinary care... our mission is to give the most vulnerable animals the second chance they deserve while ensuring adopters receive honesty, transparency & support throughout the process.

At our core, Fur Warriors stands for the underdogs. We are their voice on the battlefield when the odds are stacked against them, showing up for the animals others walk away from. Every life matters and every animal deserves someone willing to fight for them. ⚔️🛡️🐺🐾

Our team work closely with a trusted network of experienced licensed veterinarians, emergency clinics, & board certified surgeons who help guide the medical care of the animals in our program. Their expertise allows us to take on complex & urgent cases while ensuring each animal receives the highest level of care possible.

For dogs who need additional support & guidance behaviourally, we also work alongside trusted professional trainers who help set pit animals up for success.

Fur Warriors is proud to be a 100% volunteer run organization. We have no government funding or financial support. Every life we save is made possible through the dedication, compassion & hard work of our volunteers & supporters.
