So it’s time and I have put it off long enough. For those who follow our Instagram stories you have seen my sweet boy Luigi.
He was rescued with 6 other strays, out of a Boston pizza dumpster looking for food. 5 out of the 6 have been adopted, removed off the streets and now kept safe forever. But now it’s Luigis turn.
This boy was one of the most feral cats we have ever taken in. We have had him a while, and I wish I had video of the beginning weeks that we had him. Luigi would spider monkey off the walls and try to use his feet to try and kick your face. The most craziest behaviour out of all the ferals I have worked with. I was in no position to hold a camera or have enough time to set one up, but if you seen the way he acted you wouldn’t believe it. I have some videos of when he was more calm but this boy was the most work out of any cat to come in our program. He even bite the vet tech giving her many stitches.
I spent months personally fostering and winning this boy over. He was so scared as all he knew was to be on defence 24-7. He lived in my ensuite bathroom for weeks . I made a comfy set up for him and started with just having him allow me to feed, change litter and leave. The more he calmed down the longer time I would stay in the room with him. Sometimes I would just sit on the floor and return emails from my lap top for an hour or two without even paying attention to him just so he didn’t feel threatened by my presence in the room.
Over time he let his guard down and then I started to slowly try to touch him with an extended back scratcher. 1st wood one he snapped in half with his teeth 😳. But when I was able to rub behind his ear one day he did a 360. That was his weakness and I would spent as long as I could just rubbing that area putting him to sleep. Then he started greeting me when I would come in the room and from there on out we became besties.
This boy was the hardest to crack, but he is actually the most loving out of any animal I have ever rescued. He’s a sucky baby and he now sleeps beside my head every night, and even likes Spotty. This boy is the best boy. He knows his name and comes to me every time I call him. He loves cuddles and loves any attention from anyone who will give it to him. He’s great with my kids and is so well behaved. Now that he feels safe he is soooo calm and laid back. He’s a little awkward when he plays with toys but I think it’s because he’s never had toys before. I believe he was born in the streets and had no idea of how to be a normal cat. He had many cuts on him as I’m sure he was attacked often. Luigi is FIV+. With proper diet this boy can live a full normal life, and he is thriving.
Luigi is 2.5 years old
Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and ready for adoption.
This boy would do amazing with someone who would love a shadow and snuggle buddy. I put my heart and soul into this boy, and whoever has the blessing to adopt him will not be disappointed. Luigi is one of the best cats. I will cry when he’s adopted, but it’s time for him to have a family of his own.
Mr. Grumpy Gills is all recovered and is now ready for his forever home.
This handsome boy was dumped outside to fend for himself in the middle of winter, and we figure it’s because he had medical issues his past owner didn’t want to deal with. He was found in horrible condition, that his fur was matted so bad that it matted his butt basically shut. He was covered in feces as he couldn’t go to the bathroom comfortably. When he was found he had to be sedated and shaved as it was that bad. If he wasn’t found when he was, he would of died.
Mr. Grumpy Gills is 10/11 years old, but don’t let his age fool you. He is full of personality and can be very stubborn if he doesn’t get his own way. He has had surgery to remove urinary crystals as his breed is prone to them. He recovered well but is on a strict diet that is costly each month. His adopter would have to continue his diet for the rest of his life which can be $150-200 a month, as well as be consistent with vet check ups yearly to make sure his crystals don’t return.
Mr. Grumpy Gills is affectionate on his terms and would do best in a quiet or retired home. He does not do well with other animals as he is king of the castle and refuses to share his thrown.
With the right adopter this boy would make someone very happy as he’s so full of life. He has a typical Persian cat attitude, but has a soft side when he wants to show it. We are looking for an adopter who will love and protect him like he always deserved.
This is Winston. He was 1 of 11 cats and 28 dogs removed off of a hoarding property in Niagara Falls Ontario. This boy was living in horrible conditions, underweight and scared.
Winston has been in a foster home and doing well. He is a little shy at first but loves his belly and neck rubbed and will start purring every time. We know with the right home over time his shyness will go away as he's just not used to hes new surroundings. He is scared of dogs and hides if they come near him, but plays in the cat tree in the same room as them if they are near. He is great with cats of all ages and loves to cuddle them or spoon them when sleeping. He is a total sweet heart and would make an amazing companion.
Winston is 1.5 years old, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and negative for diseases. He is litter trained and eats dry food well.
Miracle and Miss Diva are the last two remaining from a litter. Their mom was abandoned left behind in a condemned house that was falling apart. Momma had kittens and they all were struggling to survive. We rescued them all and had them adopted. Miracle and Miss Diva are the last two to be adopted and are bonded.
They are 22 weeks old, vaccinated microchipped and spay & neutered
This is Inky & Bitty.
Named by their wonderful foster parents Pat & Al, who we are very grateful to open up their hearts and home, and foster while they await their furry tail ending.
These two boys were 2 of 11 cats removed off the Montrose Rd. Niagara Falls property. They came to us for socialization, but these boys were never feral. A little shy at first and unsure of the new life a head of them, but within hours came right out for head pats and belly scratches. These two brothers are bonded, and out of all the cats that came from that property, we always find them together at night sleeping. These boys are total sweethearts and deserve a home that will keep them together forever.
These boys are so sweet and love affection any chance they can get it from you. They eat very well and are litter trained. They are very calm and well behaved boys.
Inky is 2.5 years old
Bitty is 1.5 years old
Both boys are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and negative for all diseases.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals to save more strays, and give them the fighting chance they deserve.
