Shelter Removal #1
Harmony is a beautiful girl who ended up in a local shelter after being removed from a breeder. She was ready to give birth any day, and was emaciated in horrible condition. You could feel every bone in her body.
Harmony had a very complicated birth of 7 puppies, with only 6 surviving. After birthing the puppies, Harmony started bleeding more then normal and was rushed to an emergency vet. After many tests and ultrasounds, she was placed on medication for an internal infection. Harmony will need follow up ultrasounds, bloodwork and monitoring by our medical team until she is fully recovered.
Harmony’s boobs are so overly stretched from being over bred, that we have to prop them with towels so she doesn’t suffocate the babies. Harmony’s foster mom has been on clock work for feedings to make sure the babies are fed safely, and then they are removed from Harmony until the next feeding to prevent suffocation.
A few babies have had high fevers, and needed medical intervention, but all puppies are now thriving, growing and doing well. We will continue to keep everyone updated.

Shelter Removal #2
Phoenix is a 2 year old boy who was surrendered to a local shelter from an elderly man who purchased him as a puppy. Once Phoenix grew bigger… the man couldn’t walk him anymore as he was way to strong. His owner had no choice but to give him up, as Phoenix was just way to
Strong. This boy weighs 110 pounds and is solid muscle. The shelter had Phoenix adopted, but he was returned days later, as he didn’t get along with a smaller dog in the home. This boy sat for weeks, and the shelter staff got really attached to him. He was so human friendly but just dealt the wrong hand. With pandemic dogs being surrendered at an alarming rate, they were at capacity for space. The staff did not want him euthanized, and asked our rescue if we could help.
Fur Warriors was limited for space, but we didn’t want to turn him away. We posted a plea for an emergency foster home, but couldn’t get an appropriate foster placement arranged in time. We did a second post pleading for help to raise funds for a 4 week board in train so we could get him an immediate placement, and secure his safety. We had to think outside the box because we didn’t want to give up on him.
Within 14 hours, the amazing Fur Warriors supporters rallied all funds needed, and saved this boys life. We contacted the shelter, and put an immediate hold on him so he would not be euthanized, and had him transferred directly to our trainers at Complete K9 Care the next day.
Phoenix is still with our trainers receiving the best one on one training. This will make sure he is set up for success, so that his next home will be his forever home and he will never end up in a shelter again.

Shelter Removal #3
Brinx was removed from a drug house and ingested fentanyl. He was placed in a local shelter, and came to us to get a second chance. He was lucky to survive, and had frequent seizures. We monitored him closely, and had him doing amazing. He lost weight from getting proper exercise, and was doing amazing with his dog reactivity that he had. We got him to a point he could ignore other animals and walk without any issues. He was thriving off of structure as we worked hard to really set this boy up for success. We just started looking for a forever home for him, as his seizures become so far apart and it was looking soo promising for him. We knew he would never be seizure free, but they were so far apart they were manageable and easier to monitor.
Our boy went into a back to back seizure he didn’t come out of, and we devastatingly lost our boy forever. I am so sorry Brinx, we had such big plans for you. We are broken to see you leave us this way and wish we could of healed you.
🐾🕊Rest in Paradise Brinx, your life mattered and you were loved. 🕊🐾

This was a rescue nothing like we have done before. @heymynamesluna contacted us saying that he wanted to help a bully in need of saving. Their tik tok account with 4.3 million followers did a spin the wheel activity live, with different options for helping a dog in need. It landed on save a dogs life, and he instantly contacted us for help. They are no stranger to our rescue, as they have helped us many times before. The timing couldn’t of been more perfect, as a local shelter contacted us asking for help to save this bull terrier from being euthanized.
We have been non stop helping so many animals in need, we couldn’t take this girl in without a plan.
@heymynamesluna and their followers rallied together to cover all costs needed for this girl training, so she can live her best life possible. They even named her Panda!
Panda is still a bouncy puppy with very high energy which is standard with the breed. She absolutely loves to play with toys, and can play for hours. She does best with calm big dogs…as dogs with the same high energy completely over stimulate her. She needs an active home with a fenced in yard to play to run around, as walks wouldn’t be enough exercise for her. She loves to follow her handler around as she enjoys affection any chance she can get it.

This boy right here has to be the goofiest, most clumsy boy ever, and you just can’t help but laugh when he’s around.
Drake was another shelter removal we did for our “Save a Bully Behind Bars” campaign. He was a big boy who ended in the shelter because of his size and the handler not having experience.
Drake has been such a great boy in his foster home. He loves to please… however if he wants to play then his recall is poop💩 because he thinks chase me is the funniest game ever in the backyard. He literally will dance circles around you challenging you to a dance battle. 💃🏻😩🤣.
Drake gets along well with dogs but would be best with big dogs as he loves to play and wrestle non stop. He is the goofiest boy and will be an amazing addition to any family.

Shelter Removal #6
This case right here broke our heart in pieces. This girl was found in a dumped in a ditch abandoned locally. What makes it even more sad is she is the most friendliest, most loving girl ever, who literally will do anything for attention. We can only assume she was dumped because she has medical issues, and maybe the family couldn’t afford her care… but it doesn’t make this right to dump her the way she was and to not rehome her responsibly.
The shelter wanted pancake in proper hands before closing for the long weekend, as they knew she needed daily medical attention. We didn’t hesitate, picked her up and took her in immediately to an emergency vet. As you can see from the pictures.. both her ears are infected shut. She has serious skin issues which are looking allergy related.
She does have some hearing loss, but after the vet cleaned her ears as best as he could.. she was responding to sound. They fill up quickly as they are really swollen and infected. She is on steroids to control the swelling to allow the antibiotics to help the infection.
She is good with other dogs but prefers human affection. Everyone who has met her thinks she is the sweetest girl ever. She loves car rides, and did amazing being handled at the vets. Pancake is a bulldog mix, which the vet estimated to be around 8-9 years old. She has horrible infected teeth which we have her booked in for surgery next week. We have done bloodwork and skin scrapings which we are waiting on results.

Shelter Removal #7
Her old owner wanted to use her for breeding, and then dumped her because she had some skin issues. The shelter was told she lived majority of her day/life in a crate.
Summer is an active girl. She loves to play with toys and other dogs. Summer is very affectionate and listens well. Her only issue is that she is insecure around new people giving off the impression of 'stranger danger'. For this reason Summer needs to be slowly introduced to all new people, and she is okay with wearing a muzzle to help with this. Once she knows she can trust you, she does a 180 and all she wants is love & kisses! It only takes a few minutes for her to adjust but it's imperative she is never forced to interact with anyone without a proper slow introduction.
Summer is still a puppy so she will need continuous structure and guidance. She is crate trained and house trained and overall an awesome dog.
Summer does amazing with big dogs. She loves to wrestle and plays rough. She wants no trouble but will not back down if challenged.
Structure is key with her as she really thrives off of leadership.
She’s been a great dog to have around and easy to train. Summer would be great with an active family. She is a medium to high energy dog but will instantly calm down for snuggles or quiet time.

Shelter Removal #8
Momma Rayne has had her final x ray yesterday to check her leg, and results came back better then what we hoped for. Rayne originally was dumped in a field pregnant and was hardly walking on her back leg. We thought it was a torn ACL that would need surgery. We did X-rays before and after her emergency c section… but both times it was hard to see anything as there was too much tissue making it unclear on what was going on. Rayne came to us weighing a whopping 150 pounds 😳 and was only pregnant with 2 puppies. She was overweight and we worked hard on starting a healthier life for her, and getting her weight down.
Raynes X-ray yesterday showed us she has arthritis in her knee and hip on her back left leg. Since loosing alot of weight as she is now 71 pounds, she is walking better on her leg with minor limping only when it’s raining or foggy out. Keeping her at a healthy weight is important for her joints as obesity will do more damage. Now that we know she doesn’t need crate rest, she has been able to show us her zoomies when excited and we are starting to see more personality from her. We have started her on joint supplements to help her more as there isn’t much more we can do.
She gave birth to 2 beautiful girl puppies and was a phenomenal momma to them. Rayne was abused and has taken time to come out of her shell. She still flinches and will cowered to the floor with loud noises or when new people are around, but comes around slowly when reassuring her she’s ok.
She is a very sweet girl who loves anything to do with food. Her family will have to make sure she doesn’t put back on the weight she has lost, as she loves food and will do anything for it. This girl is so gentle and loving and deserves a family of her own.

Everyone welcome Serenity. (Name voted by you)
This sweet girl is a 6-8 month old Cane Corso who landed in our local shelter. The shelter is on overload with dogs abandoned and unclaimed strays. They needed help to get dogs placed as they are running out of room.
We have helped removed a couple in the last few weeks but they have had triple the amount of new ones making it impossible to keep up as more are coming in then going out. 💔 Please everyone I beg of you… please don’t be ignorant to what is going on around us. There is a real pandemic animal crisis going on and way to many animals are being failed. Ever shelter and rescue needs help. Fosters, adotpers, donors and volunteers. We are drowning with no light at the end of our tunnels. It’s a really sad time right now. This isn’t just happening in one spot it’s all across Ontario. I’m pretty sure across Canada too but I can only speak for what I see going on here.
Serenity has a beautiful grey brindle fur coat that pictures just don’t do justice. She’s is very sweet and happy to spend some time together. She was perfect for the car ride too. We found that bum and ear scratches are her weakness and have fully won her over completely.
Serenity will be going to a foster home to decompress and learn to enjoy the good life.
Welcome to the warrior family Serenity… you are safe now’
